November 12th, 2009 Cheri Chiaratti On Tuesday, November 10th, longtime Lincoln Resident and active Police Activities League volunteer, Cheri Chiaratti, died unexpectedly. Cheri helped start Lincoln's PAL program in 1997. Her contributions to the youth of Lincoln will be missed.

Lincoln Police Acitivity League (PAL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering positive relationships founded on mutual respect, trust and understanding between police officers and young people. Through PAL, young people are afforded the opportunity to participate in free monthly outdoor activities including camp outs, high ropes courses, fishing derbies and baseball games as well as free cultural activities such as museum tours and attending professional sports games. The Lincoln Youth Center located at 391 H St. officially opened its doors in October of 2008. It is open to middle school-age children (and some younger siblings under their direct supervision) Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. High school students may attend as well on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The center features pool tables, air hockey, basketball, a reading/study lounge, flat screen TV, WII, a brand new computer lab and much more!
